Trying to figure out a plan for installing your Command Link 6Y8 Yamaha Speedo in a boat with standard NMEA 2000?  We can help.

You require two cables to make this work with standard NMEA.  So, this is the first one. This cable gives outboard engine data and power to the speedo over NMEA. It provides one set of NMEA 0183 input wires. Plus, there are two sensor inputs on the pink/black leads for monitoring up to 2 fuel sending units for the fuel gauge function in the Yamaha gauge.

The second cable harness required for a 6Y8 Yamaha Digital Speedometer (Square or Round Versions) is our Better Connected™ Yamaha Command Link to NMEA Cable (Tach / Speedo).

The Command Link Gauges are a great upgrade for your boat.  And now, you don’t need to spend all that money on a Command Link installation.  Just use your NMEA network.  Our Yamaha Command Link Speedometer cables are just the right start.

So, take advantage of the super benefits of adjustable trolling speed by installing a newer Yamaha Digital Tachometer, without the need for a Command Link system.

Just tie this cable into your NMEA Network.  Then connect your new Yamaha Tach for motor trolling speed adjustment on the fly.  Or, get two of these cables and connect your speedometer, too.
