While protecting the boat owners existing Command Link investment and cabling, this cable provides a bridge for Command Link to an NMEA 2000 network which can then add NMEA 2000 devices anywhere in the boat easily and logically, now, or in the future.  This bridge allows NMEA 2000 messages to be transmitted both TO and FROM the Command Link Network.
