This is our Better Connected™ Complete NMEA Kit for Suzuki Outboards made in 2013 and newer, and the Humminbird Helix.  If you own a Suzuki Outboard built after 2013, and also a Humminbird Helix fish finder, this is the kit for you.    Please check below for additional cables needed for certain Suzuki outboards, and either G2N, and G3N, or G4N Helix models.  If you are uncertain exactly which cables you need, please contact us with your outboard serial number and year for help checking if you need additional cables for either your fish finder or outboard.

Outboard Specific Choices:

Some Suzuki models require an additional cable (990C0-88136) for a complete installation, about half the time.  Please contact us with your HP and serial number, and we can look up the cable harness you have and also help you know how to verify exactly which version you need.

Fish Finder Specific Choices:

HELIX 7, 8, 9, 10, 12, 15 G4N:  You need to purchase one of the Humminbird PN 720114-1.  Choose G4N, below.

HELIX 7 G2N, G3N models, HELIX 8 G3N, HELIX 9, 10, 12 G2N, G3N:  Humminbird has discontinued support for these models.  Contact us for more details and to discuss the reasons behind this and options we can offer.

Suzuki NMEA Cable V3.5 Firmware (2013 -> NOW Date of Manufacture)

This Suzuki Manufactured NMEA 2000 cable contains V3.5 Firmware and is specifically designed for Suzuki Outboards Manufactured from 2013 to now.

These cables can be used with any model from 9.9 to 300 HP.

Better Connected™ Suzuki 990C0-88136 Cable (Suzuki SMIS to SDS Adapter Equiv 990C0-88136)

Required about half the time in Suzuki Outboards made in 2013 and newer. It is generally best to contact us with your serial number and we can help you determine if this adapter cable is required for your specific outboard.

Better Connected™ NMEA Power Cable

By default, this kit comes with a fused power lead. This is used when you are either connecting power directly from your battery, or if you are taking power from a power lead going to other devices, like the power circuit going to your fish finder. If you have a fusebox on your boat, with open/empty/unused fuse locations and want to add the NMEA network fuse into the power circuit there, then you should choose the unfused power lead.

Better Connected™ NMEA Backbone Cable (10'/3m, 15'/5m 20'/7m)

This cable needs to span the distance from your stern electrical area to your helm electrical area. 10 foot is common for most midships console boats under 23' long. 15 feet is needed about 5% of the time. Tiller steered boats do not require any Backbone Cable. Tiller owners should set the quantity of this cable to 0, below.

Description

This is our Better Connected™ Suzuki Humminbird Helix NMEA 2000 (2013 to Now) Bundle.  This is the perfect kit for anyone who owns a Humminbird Helix fish finder and a newer Suzuki Outboard.

All Suzuki Outboards which are 2013 four stroke or newer, and 25 HP, and up in power are compatible with this kit.  About half the time, your outboard may also require another adapter cable, model number 990C0-88136).  Again, we can assist you to determine if you need this additional adapter cable in your bundle.  Please contact us with your outboard serial number.

Your Humminbird Helix installation will also require one of two configurations of proprietary Humminbird cables, depending on your specific model of Humminbird fish finder.  Please note that you need a Helix G2N, G3N, or G4N.  The “N” is an important designation.  If your Humminbird Helix Model does not end with “N”, please contact us to help you determine if your model of fish finder can be used with NMEA 2000.

Humminbird Helix cables required are:

HELIX 7, 8, 9, 10, 12, 15 G4N:  You need to purchase one of the Humminbird PN 720114-1.

HELIX 7 G2N, G3N models, HELIX 8 G3N, HELIX 9, 10, 12 G2N, G3N:  Humminbird has discontinued support for these models.  Contact us for more details and to discuss the reasons behind this and options we can offer.

You can also easily expand this network later if you install more electronics on your boat that has NMEA 2000 capability.

With this kit, you will see fuel consumption rate, oil pressure, engine temperature, RPM, alternator voltage, fuel pressure, water pressure, engine trim, and engine hours.

You also have a choice between a fused, and an unfused power lead.  Most boat owners will choose the fused lead, unless they are wiring power directly from a fuse panel.  And that fuse panel contains an extra unused fuse location.
