Description

Our Honda Blue NMEA 2000 Adapter Cable allows owners of earlier model Honda Outboards containing the Blue 6 pin connector to connect to the current style Honda Outboard NMEA 2000 cable and to also use any of our Honda cable bundles.

Honda support for NMEA 2000 started during the 2007 model year.  If you have a 2007 or 2008, or are uncertain if your outboard is supported, please contact us with your serial number and HP to determine if you have the necessary connections.  2008 and after are all supported, but it is always good in models prior to 2010 to check serial numbers for the connection availability and compatibility.  This requirement is not consistent on years, since Honda phased in NMEA capability in different HP models at different times.

In extremely rare cases, a Honda outboard may contain a 6 pin baby blue colored connector that can be adapted to a current model Honda NMEA Ouotboard cable using this adapter cable.  This rare connector can be identified by a 6 pin baby blue connector being present, and generally vertically mounted.  A 4 pin blue connector is not the same and will not work.  In the case of the 6 pin baby blue connector, you will see wire colors of yellow, white, blue, red and black going into 5 positions of the connector, if it is the correct one.  There will also be a 6th empty pin location in the connector that is not used.

This cable is 6 inches (15 cm) long.  So, it is designed for increased temperature range, exposure to oil and gas, and vibration, due to engine use.  All wiring is silicon insulation tinned maring wire, and we use high temp braiding.

Golden Channels promises you a working installation.  Period.  Or your money back.

Our Commitment to Quality & Why it Matters

Connectors and connector pins in this cable assembly are from Japan, and are exactly the same OEM as your outboard’s connector.  We never use knock off connector components in any of our cable assemblies.  This means the connector components always mate properly with your outboard.  Not surprisingly, it also saves our manufacturing staff headaches with assembly, since all parts are to a tighter mechanical spec.  This saves all of us money and headaches in the long run.

Also, connectors need to be sealed where they connect with your engine wiring harness.  Otherwise, moisture and contamination can build up, corroding the connectors on your engines wiring harness.  This is something we are very careful about, connector contamination lead to intermittent outboard operation, or the need to either fix or replace the wiring harness in your outboard.  All of our outboard cables create a perfect seal with the engine wiring harness when installed.  You will see that in all of our cables, appropriate blanking seals are used in unoccupied pin locations.

We use the best USA made teflon jacketed wire possible in this cable. Our skilled staff are provided with the very best tools.

You cannot buy a better cable.

Manufactured in Canada.  Connector electrical components are manufactured in Japan.  Braid made in the USA specified for 400F / 200C.  Final testing in Canada.
