Description
Our Evinrude NMEA Custom Bundle builder specifies the parts for a perfect NMEA installation. So, you get the exact NMEA cables needed for outboard, boat, and fish finder without any guesswork. All you need to know is what gear you’ve got. Our bundle builder will specify exactly what you need. And, won’t add anything you don’t.
Standard Evinrude installations display engine hours, RPM, very accurate fuel consumption, oil pressure, engine temperature, and alternator voltage. Existing gauges for all these parameters will continue to operate once your new NMEA 2000 system is installed.

NMEA Capability by Model Year
Evinrude phased in their NMEA 2000 capability, starting with the following HP in 2006:
- 200 and 200HO
- 225 and 225 HO
- 250
Then added additional models in 2007:
- 115
- 150 and 150HO
- 175
- 200 and 200HO
- 225 and 225HO
Finally, the remaining models were added in 2008:
- 40
- 50
- 60
- 75
- 90
So, from 2008 onward, any model from 40 HP up should have NMEA capability.
How to Check for your NMEA 2000 Connection
In most Evinrude Outboards, you can locate the NMEA connector by looking at the higher parts of the outboard. The connector tends to be close to the alternator wiring.

The best way to absolutely determine if your outboard is NMEA capable is to locate the NMEA connector on the top area of your outboard. The connector is a 4 pin inline connector, with red, blue, black, and white wires. It will look like this (shown with our cable installed):
